Through Oikia, families have been connected to the local faith communities. Many children have joined the youth group at the partner churches. Parents' feedback for a faith-based curriculum has been positive and encouraging.

As students progress in the foundational skills of phonics and decoding, their fluency and word recognition abilities also improve, paving the way for comprehension and writing instruction. Students express feeling more confident and joyful to learn English.
